COMPOSER | PRODUCER
Olly Shelton is a classically-trained composer and producer of film, electronic and ambient music. He started his career at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Productions in LA assisting Steve Jablonsky before returning to London to study music production and performance. Olly’s experimental approach to composition and sound design spans from delicate and sparse atmospheres to intense and distorted textures, combining analogue and FM synthesis with acoustic instruments and manipulated recordings.
As an experienced score producer and mixer versed in surround sound formats, including Dolby Atmos, his recent work (alongside Chris Roe) includes the BBC drama The Salt Path; Jed Mercurio’s Trigger Point, starring Vicky McClure; the BBC thriller series WOLF, starring Iwan Rheon, Sacha Dhawan and Juliet Stevenson; Arctic Ascent with Alex Honnold for National Geographic/Disney+; Netflix’s Robbie Williams documentary series; ITV’s Payback, starring Morven Christie and Peter Mullan; and Georgia Oakley’s debut film Blue Jean. He has produced and mixed several of Natalia Tsupryk’s EP releases (via Manners Mcdade), and mixed her theme musics for BBC’s Scandalous: Phone Hacking on Trial, as well as Valerie Broussard’s rendition of Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood for the title sequence of BBC One’s Traces, which reached 69 in the UK Top 100 charts.
